Update (01/30): The Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra and Xperia L2 have been up for pre-order for a couple of weeks already, but we've now got some further details on their general release. The XA2 and XA2 Ultra will be available at Amazon and Best Buy online from February 16, with in-store availability for Best Buy and other retailers beginning March 4.

The Xperia L2 will be on sale at Amazon and Best Buy from February 9 (though it was previously expected to be released February 16 like the others) and in stores March 4. For more details on device specs and color variants, head to the Sony Mobile website.

Previous coverage (01/13): Just a few days ago Sony officially unveiled its latest trio of smartphones: the Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and the Xperia L2. We only just finished discussing them and already they’re available for pre-order in the U.S. through Best Buy.

The Xperia XA2 has a 5.2-inch display with Full HD resolution and uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, and 3 GB of RAM to run the show. Internal storage is a bit meagre, at 32 GB, though the micro SD card slot supports up to an additional 256 GB.

The battery is certainly more substantial. The phone’s 3,300 mAh power pack should be more than enough to get you from morning to bedtime.

Sony equipped the Xperia XA2 with a beefy 23 MP rear sensor, while selfie lovers will get by with the 8 MP front-facing sensor. Finally, the phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

The Xperia XA2 Ultra is largely the same phone, save for a roomier 6-inch display with Full HD resolution, an additional 64 GB storage option, a larger 3,580 mAh battery, and a second 16 MP selfie shooter.

Both the Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra have rear-mounted fingerprint sensors, and they actually work in the U.S.! Consider your Sony-filled prayers answered.

Then there’s Xperia L2, the lowest-end, but still capable phone of the three. It’s got a 5.5-inch display with a 720p resolution, a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of expandable storage.

The phone is also equipped with a rear 13 MP camera and a front 8 MP sensor, as well as a beefy 3,300 mAh battery. Some folks will take issue with the Xperia L2 running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box instead of Oreo. At least the phone won’t break the bank.

Speaking of money, you can pre-order the Xperia XA2 from Best Buy in silver, black, blue, and pink for $350. Meanwhile, the Xperia XA2 Ultra comes in silver, black, blue, and gold for $450, while the Xperia L2 in black, gold, and pink goes for $250.

All three phones are set to launch Feb. 16, 2018.
