TL;DR
  • Xiaomi could soon launch another phone in its Redmi Note 10 lineup.
  • The rumored device is the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G with the Snapdragon 750G SoC.
  • The phone will likely be at the top of the food chain in the series.

The Redmi Note series is undoubtedly Xiaomi’s most popular lineup and this year’s Redmi Note 10 phones are no different. The devices clocked in $68 million in sales, just in India, within the first two weeks of their launch. So it’s no wonder the company is possibly planning to expand the series by adding a sixth phone to the mix.

According to leaker Abhishek Yadav, Xiaomi is getting ready to release a 5G variant of the Redmi Note 10 Pro. The company already has a 5G phone in the series in the form of the Dimensity 700-powered Redmi Note 10 5G. However, the Pro models are stuck with the LTE-only Snapdragon 732G chip.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 750G. This is the same SoC that also powered the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G last year. It’s also a step down from the Snapdragon 780G that powers the Mi 11 Lite 5G. So Redmi is perfectly positioned to launch such a device without eating into the market share of the Mi phone.

The tipster also shared a possible poster of the phone for the Spanish market. The device depicted in it looks a lot like the standard Redmi Note 10 Pro, so it’s possible that the Redmi Note Pro 10 5G will have a lot of specs in common with its 4G sibling, except, of course, for the chipset.

We expect that the phone will be headed to the European market when it’s released. We’re not sure if India would be on the list to get this model because of the lack of a working 5G network in the country.

Of course, this is all still just conjecture based on a leak, so we’ll have to wait and see what Xiaomi has in store.
