TL;DR
  • Xiaomi has reduced the price of the Mi A1 to ₹12,999 in India until December 9
  • The offer is available exclusively through Mi.com and Flipkart
  • The handset is expecting the Android Oreo update soon

The Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched in September in India, contributing to Xiaomi’s huge sales in the region towards the end of that month. It’s an Android One smartphone, meaning it runs on stock Android rather than Xiaomi’s regular MIUI interface, and it went on sale for the very reasonable price of ₹14,999 (around $230). Today, Xiaomi has revealed that the device will be on sale in the region until December 9.

The deal is available exclusively through both Flipkart and Mi.com, and will see the handset’s price reduced by around 13% to ₹12,999 (~$200). The phone is available in gold and black, and comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage space (it doesn’t look like the offer will extend to that sweet rose gold model, though).

In related news, Mi A1 owners could soon be in for the Android Oreo update, as the folks at Xioami are already working on the software and are seeking beta testers for it.

In our review, we called the handset “close to the perfect smartphone for those on a budget” — at this price, it’s an even better deal. Check out our Xiaomi Mi A1 review here and hit the buttons below to see the deals.
