Xiaomi Mi 5s invite points to a September 27th launch

Xiaomi has begun sending out invites to the launch of its upcoming Mi 5s handset, which will take place on September 27th. There’s no specific mention of the handset in the invitation, but the gigantic S teaser is a pretty big giveaway.

Other specifications are anticipated to include a 16 megapixel rear camera with 4-axis OIS, PDAF, and an f/1.8 aperture. Some suggest this could come in a dual rear camera configuration, but it’s not entirely clear at this point. There’s also rumored to be a decently sized 3,490mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology on board.

Rumors from earlier in the year also suggest that the smartphone will be the first to launch equipped with Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint scanning technology. The phone may also feature a pressure-sensitive display, just like the 3D Touch and Force Touch technologies of HUAWEI and Apple.

There’s certainly some impressive sounding hardware potentially packed into Xiaomi’s latest flagship.
