TL;DR
  • Xiaomi has announced a June 22 launch date for the Mi 11 Lite in India.
  • The device launched in Europe earlier this year at a €299 (~$364) starting price.

Xiaomi’s Mi Lite range has been around for a while, dating back to 2018’s Mi 8 Lite. The Lite variant tends to offer a variety of cutbacks compared to the Mi flagship, but still offers a similarly premium design.

We already got the Mi 11 Lite and Mi 11 Lite 5G in Europe, but Xiaomi has now announced that the former device will be coming to India on June 22 at midday IST (2:30 AM ET). Check out the teaser image below.

In case you missed it, the standard Mi 11 Lite is equipped with a 6.55-inch 90Hz OLED panel, a Snapdragon 732G chipset, 6GB to 8GB of RAM, and 64GB to 128GB of storage. The phone also serves up a 4,250mAh battery with 33W charging, while camera duties are handled by a triple rear shooter (64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP telemacro) and a 16MP selfie snapper.

Other notable features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP53 splash resistance, and MIUI 12 atop Android 11.  The Mi 11 Lite starts at €299 (~$364) in Europe, but Indian smartphone pricing tends to be cheaper.

Either way, the Mi 11 Lite 4G is a curious release for Xiaomi when you realize that the Redmi Note 10 Pro is already available in the market. The Redmi device looks like a better phone, serving up the same chipset, a much bigger battery, a higher refresh rate, and a headphone port (not available on the Mi 11 Lite range). But those who value a great, slim design (at 6.8mm thin) might want to keep an eye on this release.
