Xiaomi Mi 11 is finally stepping outside China next week
- Xiaomi is sending out media invites for the global launch of the Mi 11.
- The phone will be the first Snapdragon 888 device in Europe.
- It will reportedly launch on February 8.
Xiaomi has reportedly started sending out media invites for the global launch of the Mi 11. According to TechRadar, the Snapdragon 888 flagship will be announced in Europe on February 8 at 1 PM CET (7 AM ET).
The date seems about right because we also heard a rumor about it on the Xiaomiui Telegram channel yesterday. The company is also teasing something on its Twitter account, indicating that the official date announcement could be out very soon.
The Mi 11 was the first phone to launch with Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor. However, its global launch comes after that of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series which went on open sale today.
Although Xiaomi has only announced one phone under the Mi 11 moniker till now, it’s believed that we’ll also get the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Lite at some point this year. The former was even spotted in Xiaomi’s code for MIUI 12‘s Gallery app.
Will Xiaomi launch the two extra models alongside the regular Mi 11 on February 8? Well, that’s anybody’s guess. The company is being tight-lipped about it, but we won’t have to wait long to find out.
Until then, you can read all about the Mi 11 here. The flagship phone won’t have many competitors when it lands in Europe. It’ll also give the region its first taste of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip since Samsung is only selling Exynos models of the Galaxy S21 series there.
