Xiaomi 12 renders, video leak: Xiaomi could be going smaller

Don't expect an under-display selfie camera here though.

TL;DR
  • Renders apparently showing the Xiaomi 12 have now leaked online.
  • The images show a phone with a center-mounted punch-hole camera and curved screen.

Xiaomi confirmed the existence of the Xiaomi 12 flagship at the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 launch a few weeks ago, confirming that this phone would make use of Qualcomm’s chipset. We’re expecting the phone to launch any day now, but it looks like renders have just leaked.

Frequent tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer and Zoutons posted renders and a 360-degree video apparently showing the Xiaomi 12. Check out the images below, as well as the video above.

The images show a phone with a curved screen and a triple rear camera combo. The rear camera housing is dominated by one shooter, presumably being a large, primary sensor. We also see a center-mounted punch-hole cutout rather than an under-display selfie camera as per the Mix 4.

Xiaomi’s device is said to measure in at 152.7 x 70.0 x 8.6mm (or 11.5mm with the camera bump). That actually makes it shorter and narrower than the Xiaomi Mi 11, albeit slightly thicker. That measurement also means it slots in between the Pixel 4 XL and Pixel 4 in terms of height. So those looking for a more sensibly sized device might want to keep an eye on this flagship.

There’s not much else to glean from these images then, but hopefully we don’t have long to wait until the Xiaomi 12 launch event.
