The WhatsApp team may have been working overtime to patch a high-profile exploit last week, but it looks like the team is also working on a few new features.

According to serial leaker WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned team is working on the ability to share your WhatsApp Stories to Facebook. The source notes that you’ll eventually find an “add to Facebook Story” option in your WhatsApp Status tab. This button is only expected to appear if you’ve got the Facebook app installed on your phone. Check out the option in the first picture below.

The second addition spotted by WABetaInfo (see the second picture above) is QR code functionality to share your contact. The feature will apparently be accessible via your profile, and lets people add you by scanning your code with the WhatsApp camera.

WhatsApp will always have security issues, according to the founder of rival Telegram

The tipster notes that you can also revoke your QR code, in case you don’t want it to work anymore. This likely doesn’t mean people who obtained your number via this method will lose it, but it will stop other people from adding your number via this route.

These aren’t the only upcoming WhatsApp features, as the tipster recently reported that a night mode is coming too. This option seems to use grey instead of OLED-friendly black though, but it should still be easier on the eyes though.
