Do we need another mobile payment system? Probably not, but we’re getting one.

Back in December 2015, Walmart announced its new mobile payment platform, Walmart Pay. It was only available at a few stores in the beginning, but the company promised a nationwide rollout would begin during the first half of 2016.

Today Walmart has announced that Walmart Pay is now available in more than 120 locations in Alabama.

To use Walmart Pay, you’ll need to get the latest version of the Walmart app on your Android or iOS device. Once you’re read to checkout, visit any register, open the app and choose Walmart Pay. The camera will then activate, and you’ll need to scan the code displayed at the register. This will connect Walmart Pay. After the associate scans and bags your items, your payment should go through automatically, and you’ll be sent an eReceipt for your charges.

You can use any major credit, debit, pre-paid or Walmart gift card to make your payment.
