Vivo, the world’s fifth-largest phone maker, will enter the APAC 5G market with the launch of its latest flagship 5G smartphone. The company has already released two 5G-ready models in China, including the NEX 3, and they’re not looking to slow down any time soon.

vivo is bringing 5G smartphones to both the budget and premium categories and dominating the game in China while they do it. Smartphone makers have shipped almost half a million units to China as of the end of September, and Vivo is making up an incredible 54.3% of those numbers according to IDC. 5G networks may not even be available yet, but vivo is preparing customers to be connected as soon as the switch flips.

Mobile World Live projects incredible 5G growth throughout APAC with China focusing on launches in 46 cities. vivo is already preparing to roll out 5G compatible services and applications to keep the transition running smoothly.

Vivo’s 5G-capable smartphones will be the perfect place to jump into a new 5G experience, partly thanks to the price points that are comparable to current LTE devices. 5G doesn’t have to be a connection that breaks the bank, and vivo’s 300 million customers across 36 countries have already started to take notice.

vivo has been preparing to lead the 5G revolution since 2016, and they haven’t been working alone. It’s been working on the flagship 5G device since 2017, and it has become one of the top contributors to the 3GPP standard group. At MWC Shanghai 2019, Vivo finally unveiled technologies such as AR Glass and the 5G Cloud Game, powered by its partnership with Qualcomm.

Qualcomm and vivo have been working in unison ever since their first 3G collaboration in 2011. Think about that: vivo and Qualcomm have been together for three generations of connection. That’s a strong bond. The collaboration continues right into vivo’s newest device, the vivo NEX 3. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s most powerful processor yet.
