Virgin Media offering 4G SIMs with unlimited WhatsApp and Messenger
Virgin Media is in the midst of revamping its 4G LTE offerings in the UK and today has launched a selection of new 4G SIM plans that will please prolific texters out there. Although the unlimited data option has unfortunately disappeared, Virgin Media is now offering customers unlimited usage of WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger with these plans.
In addition to unlimited WhatsApp and Messenger, Virgin Media’s 30 day rolling contracts allow customers to carry over any unused data to the next month. These new options are now certainly more competitive with the rollover bonus offered by O2, and FreedomPop’s newly launched unlimited WhatsApp SIM.
In terms of pricing, the cheapest 4G SIM starts at just £6. That won’t net you a lot of data, just 300MB and 300 minutes, but the options scale up to 5000 minutes, unlimited texts, and 20GB of data for a quite competitive £25 per month. Here’s a breakdown of the plans available:
If you’re running out of data part way through the month, customers can also upgrade or downgrade their plan each cycle to make sure that they’re getting the most appropriate deal. Customers can also continue to use an unlimited amount of additional data at a capped cost of £2 per day, if they go over their allowance. As an added bonus, Virgin Media customers can make use of 250,000 company WiFi hotsposts, which includes 250 stations on the London Underground, for free. Anyone interested?
