Update: Unreal Mobile has now revealed details on all three of its plans. They all offer unlimited talk, text and data, but the speed of the data is just 2G. If you get the $10 a month plan you also get 1 GB of LTE data, while $15 gets you 2GB of LTE speed. If you get the $30 plan, you get 5 GB of LTE data.

Original story: In May, the popular budget-friendly MVNO wireless carrier FreedomPop announced plans to launch a spin-off, Unreal Mobile. At that time, the company claimed Unreal Mobile was formed in response to the upcoming merger of Sprint and T-Mobile, and added that it would offer an unlimited plan, with access to Sprint’s network, for as low as $15 a month.

Unreal Mobile officially launches today, closing a previous beta test with over 50,000 users. As it turns out, Unreal Mobile’s lowest priced “unlimited” plan costs even less than first revealed, with a price of just $10 a month, with no contract and no credit check. Furthermore, Unreal Mobile will offer new Android smartphones made by Alcatel to use on its network for less than $50. Alternatively, you can use your own CDMA phone on the Unreal network. There will also be options to purchase Samsung smartphones starting at $149, or refurbished Apple iPhone 7s starting at $399.

Customers will be able to use their Unreal Mobile phone number on any device including tablets, iPads, or second phones. The MVNO will also offer a built-in VPN security service that can be turned on or off via the carrier’s app, along with an ad blocker.

Unfortunately, as of the time of this post, we have no information on the download speeds for this $10 “Unlimited” plan. We will update this story with that information when it is revealed.
