TL;DR
  • Mobvoi launched a new app for smartwatches called TimeShow.
  • TimeShow gives users access to dozens of watch faces with new faces added weekly.
  • Creators can get paid for making and sharing their own watch faces using the TimeShow DIY site.

The AI tech company known as Mobvoi has launched a new app made for smartwatches. Its app will give users access to new watch faces and allow them to share their own creations.

Today, the creator of TicWatch smartwatches, Mobvoi, announced it launched an app called TimeShow. The app will be Facer’s latest competition as Mobvoi says TimeShow will enable its users to find dozens of new watch faces to use with their smartwatches. And according to the company, new faces will be added to the app on a weekly basis.

These watch faces won’t be exclusive to TicWatches either. Apple watches and other Android smartwatches will be able to use the app as well. Vice president of engineering at Mobvoi, Robert Zhang, states, “It was important for us that TicWatch and all smartwatch users are able to express themselves the way they want to.”

As for the types of watch faces that will be available, the company says:

Options range from interactive games like “Little Ball Adventure” and “Gluttony Snake” to easily customized widgets, as well as an assortment of modern and classic styles to enable users to meet their specific needs and preferences. A wide variety of fonts and effects are available to display the time and data on the smartwatch for an even more personalized style. TimeShow will even offer health and fitness-focused watch faces that show real-time health data, including a user’s steps and heart rate.

In addition to the TimeShow app, the smartwatch maker announced its launching a TimeShow DIY site. This site will reportedly allow creators and graphic designers to not only create and share their own watch faces, but also make money off their creations. The company says its currently working on integrating a revenue-sharing plan into the platform.

If you want to give it a shot, the app is available to download right now in both the Google and Apple app stores.
