This bezel-less phone looks even crazier in its first hands-on video

TECNO has built a reputation for showcasing unusual smartphone concepts at major tech events. The PHANTOM Ultimate G Fold, billed as the world’s thinnest trifold, debuted ahead of IFA 2025, while MWC 2026 brought an ultra-thin modular phone. Now, a hands-on video of TECNO’s latest concept phone is out, giving us our first proper look at its bezel-less design ahead of its IFA 2026 debut.

TECNO itself showcased the 0mm-bezel phone a few weeks ago, teasing its edge-to-edge display without revealing much about what it would be like to actually use. That has now changed, with Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) going hands-on with the device. He also showed it from multiple angles while putting its unusual design to the test.

The phone has a 6.7-inch flat display that appears to run directly into its metal frame, with no visible black bezel around it. TECNO achieves the effect through internal display stacking, with the frame sitting slightly higher than the screen. This approach hides the display border and creates the illusion of a completely bezel-less screen.

That raised frame, however, becomes noticeable during normal use. As Brownlee demonstrates, your finger can catch on it when performing edge gestures, including swiping up to go home or down to open notifications. For users who rely on Android’s gesture navigation, that could quickly become irritating. But slapping a thicker tempered-glass screen protector could make the raised edge less noticeable and potentially help bridge that gap.

The design also raises questions about cases. A conventional bezel provides some room for a case to sit around the display, whereas TECNO’s raised frame leaves less room to protect the edges without potentially overlapping the screen. The rest of the concept is surprisingly close to a flagship. It features a 144Hz display, triple rear cameras, and a 6,000mAh battery. Brownlee also notes that the phone is remarkably light.

The rear is arguably even more eye-catching, with a holographic, lenticular finish resembling butterfly wings that creates a 3D effect. The concept still has a punch-hole selfie camera, so maybe TECNO could have pushed the design further with an under-display camera.

TECNO will showcase the phone at IFA 2026 next month. But with the hands-on video out now, we have a much better idea of what living with a zero-bezel phone might actually be like.
