Star Wars characters are Forcing their way into Android Pay this week
Today is Star Wars Day (“May the Fourth be with you”, get it?) and there are a ton of different ways fans of the massively popular science fantasy franchise can celebrate. If you use a smartphone with Android Pay, there will be a way to keep that celebration going all week with a cool extra feature.
As shown on the official Android Twitter page, Google is throwing in new Star Wars designs for its animated Android mascot whenever an Android Pay purchase is made on a smartphone. The company says there will be seven different Star Wars animations to be unlocked with the Android Pay app this week.
Tap. Pay. #StarWarsDay. Use #AndroidPay in stores all week and discover 7 of your favorite characters. Who did you find? #MayTheFourth pic.twitter.com/a6741SzGB5— Android (@Android) May 4, 2017
The Twitter page shows just two of them; a Jedi Knight and a Stormtrooper. We would be very disappointed if there was not a Darth Vader, R2-D2 or Wookiee animation to unlock as well, and we would bet the house all of them are included.
Of course, this is not the only thing Google is doing to celebrate Star Wars Day. It is also running big discounts on the first six Star Wars movies in the Google Play Store, along with price cuts on a number of Star Wars games and comic books. How are you choosing to celebrate Star Wars today? Let us know in the comments!
