Sony’s latest noise-cancelling headphones, the WH-1000XM5, are here and available for pre-order.

Sony has a well-earned reputation as the reigning champ of full-size headphones. Our own review of the WH-1000XM4 labeled them “the best all-around option for most people.” Sony is now building on that success with the all-new WH-1000XM5.

The new headphones take noise cancellation to an entirely new level, thanks to two processors that control eight microphones. The result is “unprecedented” noise cancellation, improving the overall listening experience and providing exceptional call quality.

The WH-1000XM5 also supports Sony’s LDAC audio codec. This means the headphones transmit far more data than traditional Bluetooth headphones, giving users high-resolution audio.

The headphones also support Google Assistant, Amazon’s Alexa, and Apple’s Siri, making it easy to control your music, set reminders, contact friends, and much more. At the same time, Speak-to-Chat will automatically stop the music when you start talking.

The headphones allegedly provide 30 hours of battery life, along with fast charging that can supposedly add three hours of life with only three minutes of charging.

The new headphones come in white or black and are priced at $399, roughly $50 more than their predecessor.
