Sony PlayStation Showcase reveals Wolverine, Spider-Man 2, KOTOR Remake, more

There was lots of news and trailers from upcoming Playstation 5 titles.

Sony held another one of its virtual PlayStation Showcase events today, and as promised it offered up a number of new trailers and announcements for its PlayStation 5 games library. Here’s a quick look at what was revealed today.

Marvel’s Wolverine

Insomniac Games, the makers of the hit Spider-Man PlayStation games, is making another Marvel-based game, based on everyone’s favorite mutant Wolverine. No other details on the game were revealed.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Insomniac is also making a full sequel to its hit Spider-Man game. It’s due in 2023 and will bring the Peter Parker and Miles Morales Spider-Men together.

God of War: Ragnarok

Sony’s Santa Monica Studio team is working on the next game in the God of War action-adventure series. This is the first trailer showing gameplay from the title. Once again we will see Kratos and his son Atreus working together, and also having some tensions between them. There’s no release date yet.

Gran Turismo 7

Sony’s hit racing sim is finally coming to the PlayStation 5. You can drive the supercars in the game when it is released on March 4, 2022.

Star Wars: Knights of The New Republic Remake

Aspyr Media is remaking the classic Star Wars RPG originally developed by BioWare. There’s no word yet on a release date, but it seems to be a PS5 exclusive.

Project EVE

This third-person action game from Shift Up Second Eve Studio centers on a young woman who is trying to save a devastated future Earth by fighting some truly weird alien monsters.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

We got a new look at this Borderlands spin-off game from Gearbox Software and 2K Games, featuring gameplay for the first time. It’s due out on March 25, 2022.

Forspoken

This third-person action game from Square Enix, due in the spring of 2022, features a young woman from our present-day Earth who is suddenly transported to a fantasy realm. She must use the power of her intelligent gauntlet to defeat this world’s enemies.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Extraction

We got another new trailer from Ubisoft’s next Rainbow Six tactical shooter, as your team fights against an alien invasion. It’s due in January 2022.

Alan Wake Remastered

Remedy is remastering its classic action noir game for new consoles, including the Playstation 4 and 5. It’s due for release on October 5.

Grand Theft Auto 5

Rockstar Games is finally giving us the PS5 version of its hit open-world crime game, along with its multiplayer component Grand Theft Auto Online, in March 2022.

Ghostwire Tokyo

We got another glimpse of this long-awaited Bethesda Softworks horror action game. It’s coming in the spring of 2022.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

We have another trailer from Eidos Montreal’s adaptation of the Marvel Comics space opera series. It’s due for release on October 26, 2021.

Vampire The Masquerade — Blood Hunt

Here’s another look at this free-to-play battle royal game based on the vampire-themed RPG. It’s due to launch sometime in 2021 from developer Sharkmob.

Deathloop

Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks released one final trailer for its time-loop-themed first-person shooter. It’s due next week, September  14.

Kid A Mnesia Exhibition

Here’s a weird trailer for some kind of game from the rock band Radiohead. It’s due sometime in November from publisher Epic Games.

Tchia

This kid-themed open-world tropical game from developer Awaceb allows players to enter and control any animal they can find. It’s due sometime in 2022.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection

Uncharted 4 from Naughty Dog is getting remastered for the PS5 and PC in early 2022. It will contain the main game and the expansion pack and it’s coming in early 2022.
