Indian OEM Smartron launches its first fitness tracker with ECG and BP monitoring
Indian OEM Smartron has announced the launch of its first wearable device, the tband. The unique proposition of the fitness band is that it features ECG (Electrocardiography) and BP (Blood Pressure) monitoring.
Smartron tband works with thealth app (available for Android and iOS) that gives the user an overall Health Index score which is a combination of activity tracking, calorie count, sleeping patterns, stress and fatigue levels as well as Blood Pressure and Heart Health.
Apart from ECG and BP monitoring features, tband also continuously measures heart rate as well as resting heart rate. There’s also customizable alerts for waking up and medicine reminders, along with SMS and call notifications.
The tband sports an OLED display with a 100mAh battery that lasts for 2-4 days and comes with IP67 rating that makes it dust and water resistant.
Smartron positions itself as an IoT company and aims to build an ecosystem of devices and services with an AI-powered IoT platform called tronX. The tband is the company’s first step towards building the tronX health ecosystem. The company has partnered with several health and fitness partners including Portea, Talwalkars, Growfitter, FeetApart, and Healthsignz to offer a variety of services and aims to extend this partnership to hospitals, pharmacies, and doctors.
Priced at ₹4,999 ($75), the tband will be exclusively available on Flipkart starting May 13. What do you think of the Smartron tband, and would you like to pick one up? Tell us in the comments.
