Much like Words with Friends, Slang N’ Friendz pits you against either an AI or real online opponent. You get a bunch of random letters and have to place them on the virtual board. Unlike Words with Friends, though, Slang N’ Friendz lets you earn points by not only using “real” words but also slang words and terms that are not found in normal dictionaries. You are not limited to slang words that are used in our time; the app’s slang dictionary can accept words going back to the 1800s.

One other interesting feature of this game is that you can actually send in a slang term that you may have heard, and it might be accepted into the Slang N’ Friendz dictionary for points. If you use a special slang term and play it in the game, a virtual version of Ludacris might just react to it positively and give you some extra points. The game also lets you customize your tilesets and backgrounds.

There’s certainly a huge market for mobile word games, and this new entry seems to offer an interesting twist. Be aware that while Slang N’ Friendz is free to download and play from the Google Play Store, it does have optional in-game purchases. Will you dump Scrabble and Words with Friends for Slang N’ Friendz?
