Let the games begin! Competitive FPS Shadowgun War Games coming in 2019

The talented team at Madfinger Games is back at it again with another entry in the Shadowgun series. The latest game, Shadowgun War Games, is a competitive multiplayer shooter for Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch, set in the Shadowgun universe.

The game will feature heroes from across the series in 5v5 Capture the Flag skirmishes. Much like other hero shooters, War Games’ characters each come with unique weapons and abilities and you’ll need to coordinate strategies with your teammates to achieve victory. There’s no I in team, remember!

War Games is presented as a fictional sport/game show — Smash TV-style — with crowds packing out an arena to watch the action. You can watch the trailer above to get a good idea of what’s in store.

Madfinger has confirmed the game is played from a first-person perspective and has hinted that other modes aside from Capture the Flag will come down the line. The developer is targeting a 60fps frame rate but on mobile hardware with higher refresh rates, including the upcoming ASUS ROG phone, War Games will hit an ultra-smooth 90fps. Oof.
