ASUS and the Dark Knight team up for a ROG Phone 6 Batman edition
- ASUS is creating a Batman edition of its ROG Phone 6.
- The DC tie-in will include some Batman-themed hardware design cues but seems to be mostly restricted to software-based skins and themes.
- There likely won’t be a Batman edition for the upcoming ROG Phone 6D or 6D Ultimate.
Superhero-themed special editions are far from new in the smartphone market. For example, OnePlus gave us an Avengers-themed OnePlus 6 variant back in 2018 and OPPO did the same with an Avengers-themed Reno 5 Marvel edition in 2021. It seems Asus has now also stepped in the ring with its own superhero-themed special edition smartphone.
Discovered by 91Mobiles, it looks like ASUS is giving the Defender of Gotham his very own phone. As for which of ASUS’s phones will get Batman treatment, it appears the ROG Phone 6 will be donning the cowl.
Before Batman fans get too excited, it doesn’t look like ASUS is doing anything too crazy with the phone’s physical appearance. Based on the renders, the Batman edition of the ROG Phone 6 will only include a few color changes with the Caped Crusader’s name on the back.
It’s possible that most of the nods related to the crime fighter will be restricted to software, like special Batman themes and skins.
Unfortunately, it looks like the Batman edition may only be for the ROG Phone 6. There’s no information on if there would be a Batman edition for ASUS’s upcoming ROG Phone 6D or 6D Ultimate.
