This Harry Potter-themed Android phone is straight out of Hogwarts

Realme is continuing its trend of pop culture collaborations for its phones. Last year, the company launched a special Game of Thrones edition of the realme 15 Pro, and this year, it’s gearing up to launch a Harry Potter edition of the realme 16 Pro.

The realme 16 Pro Harry Potter edition comes with a brown back finish featuring a leather texture and an argyle pattern that the company says is inspired by the wizards’ chess scene from the movies. There’s a huge Hogwarts crest smack dab in the center of the back panel, along with the Harry Potter wordmark.

Perhaps the only saving grace, in what is otherwise a smartphone so heavily packed with Harry Potter design elements that it looks kind of weird, is the redesigned camera module. The company has given the camera lenses a subtle touch to resemble Hedwig’s eyes, complete with a tiny beak in the middle. The side frame also has “Welcome to Hogwarts” etched into it.

The special edition realme 16 Pro will feature an AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 6,500-nit peak brightness, and HDR10+. It will also pack in the Dimensity 7300 Max chipset and a 7,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging and reverse charging.

Realme hasn’t confirmed the remaining specs yet, but they’re likely to be the same as those of the regular realme 16 Pro. It will likely feature a 200MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP front camera.

The realme 16 Pro Harry Potter edition will also be available in a special Hogwarts-themed gift box, styled to look identical to Harry’s school trunk from the movies. The box contains a “Hogwarts Welcome Pack,” including a Hogwarts acceptance letter and a train ticket. realme has also said that only 5,000 units of the gift box will be available to purchase.

You’ll also find bookmarks with crests from the four Hogwarts houses, postcards with the scene of Harry, Hermione, and Ron stepping into the castle for the first time, and a phone case with the Hogwarts crest on it.

Realme hasn’t specified pricing or availability for the realme 16 Pro Harry Potter edition. However, the company will officially launch the phone on September 21, so we should get more information in the next few days.
