POCO recently declared its independence from Xiaomi, saying it would have its own team and more. The company has now announced a new logo and mascot, serving perhaps as more evidence that it’s trying to distance itself from Xiaomi.

The new mascot is essentially based on the angry/mad emoji, but adds a snarling mouth of sorts, a halo, and Android robot-style antennas. Check out an explanation of the mascot itself below and the logo (incorporating the mascot in the POCO name) in the image at the top of the article.

“With ‘Made of Mad’, the new brand logo invokes a confusing emotion in the minds of the consumer, and is a representation of every individual who is looking for greater alternatives to the mainstream,” reads an explanation of the new logo/mascot in an official email sent to Android Authority.

What do you think of POCO's new logo/mascot?

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a new mascot from a smartphone brand in recent months. realme launched its own Realmeow mascot in December 2020, being a cat with a visor of sorts. Going back even further, Xiaomi has its own rabbit mascot while 2019’s Redmi K20 series had its own cute dragon mascot.

But what do you think of POCO’s new mascot and logo though? Let us know by taking the poll above, and leaving a comment if you have any opinions one way or the other.
