TL;DR
  • POCO has launched the POCO F3 GT in India.
  • The phone competes with the OnePlus Nord 2 both in terms of its price and specs.
  • The device is targeted at mobile gamers with a 120Hz AMOLED display, 5,065mAh battery, and gaming triggers.

A day after OnePlus launched the Nord 2 in India starting at a sub-Rs 30,000 price tag, rival POCO has also launched its competing phone in the form of the POCO F3 GT.

The device is a rebadged version of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition which launched in China back in April. It carries the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, just like the recently launched OnePlus Nord 2. However, it ups the Nord’s 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED display with a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel coupled with HDR 10+ support and DC Dimming.

If you’re someone who prefers plastic phones for better durability, you might not appreciate the POCO F3 GT’s all-glass body. However, it does have an aluminum alloy frame and Gorilla Glass 5 covering for added toughness. To complete its gaming aesthetics, the phone also features RGB glow lights around the camera housing. You can use them for gameplay, notification alerts, or as a charging indicator.

The POCO F3 GT also features two magnetic levitation triggers that activate with the flick of the physical slider on the phone. This makes the physical maglev keys pop out of the frame and turns up the display’s touch sampling rate to 480Hz. Gamers can then map the keys to virtual buttons in their games.

In the imaging department, the POCO F3 GT gets a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro shooter. The front hosts a 16MP snapper in a centered punch hole.

Powering the package is a sizable 5,065mAh battery with 67W fast charging, once again upping the OnePlus Nord 2’s 4,500mAh battery with 65W charging.

POCO F3 GT India price and availability

The POCO F3 GT will retail in India starting at Rs 26,999 (~$362) for the 6GB + 128GB version, Rs 28,999 (~$389) for the 8GB + 128GB version, and Rs 30,999 (~$416) for the 8GB + 256GB version. For the first week, customers in India will be able to get the phone for Rs 1,000 lesser than these prices.
