Pocket Casts version 6.0 introduces shareable playlists, app shortcuts and more
In another expectedly high-quality update from Shifty Jelly, its premium podcast app Pocket Casts reaches version 6.0 and with it arrives a number of tasty additions.
Pocket Casts now features multi-window mode support for Android Nougat devices, as well as app shortcut functionality introduced in Android 7.1 (which is super fancy and you can read more about at the link). Plus, Shifty Jelly has also included a component for creating and sharing individual podcast playlists, so you can easily check out what your friends are listening to.
Rounding off the update are some bug fixes for Chromecast and playback effects like ‘remove silence’ and ‘volume boost’ can now be used for streaming.
Pocket Casts is widely regarded as one of the best podcast apps on Android thanks, in part, to the speed at which its developers update it to reflect the latest Android versions. All Shifty Jelly has to do now is cap the volume on the Stuff You Should Know podcast ads so they don’t wake me when I’m drifting off to sleep.
