This looks to be a great phone if you prioritize updates and physical durability over pretty much everything else.

TL;DR
  • Today, HMD Global announced it is bringing the Nokia XR20 to the United States on August 24, 2021.
  • The $550 phone boasts MIL-STD 810H durability but its specs are fairly weak.
  • You’ll also be able to get the phone in the United Kingdom starting today.

With the prominent “glass sandwich” design of smartphones nowadays, durability is not exactly an option. Unless you want to risk your phone cracking or even shattering with a drop, you’ll need to put it into a case.

However, HMD Global isn’t content with that. The company’s Nokia XR20 is a rugged device with one of the strongest smartphone display coverings available. It makes multiple durability promises including the military-grade MIL-STD 810H and IP68 certifications.

Considering the device’s durability, HMD expects it to last you quite a while. Thankfully, the company will also deliver three years of Android upgrades and an additional year of security patches to the phone.

Of course, the phone can’t be perfect. Its processor is quite weak and its imaging system will leave a lot to be desired. Check out the specs below.
