A new video designed to tease the upcoming worldwide launch of Nokia-branded smartphones shows at least one new phone not previously announced.

We are still waiting patiently for HMD Global to officially commence the promised worldwide launch of its first three Nokia-branded Android smartphones. In the meantime, a new teaser video designed to show off those devices has popped up on the internet. What’s interesting is that the clip seems to show at least one new Nokia smartphone that has not been officially announced.

The clip, as first reported by online gadget leaker Evan “@evleaks” Blass on his Twitter account, was posted on Vimeo by George Chevalier Lewis, who previously was the head of brand photography at Nokia until December 2014. He is now the Head of Art at the Mirum marketing agency, and apparently was contracted by HMD Global to make a new video for its smartphones with the Nokia brand name.

The clip itself (which unfortunately cannot be embedded in our post due to Lewis’ Vimeo privacy settings), seems to show that in addition to the previously announced Nokia 3, 5 and 6 phones, there is a fourth headset that has a dual rear camera set-up. That phone has yet to be officially revealed by Nokia.

Blass states in a follow up Twitter post that there might be two new Nokia devices that have not been revealed in that video. However, in a comment on his page, Lewis may have scuttled that speculation, stating, “The devices were still in development so the shape and form is much more simple than the final products that have now been launched.”

HMD Global has yet to offer a specific worldwide launch date for the Nokia 3, 5, and 6, saying only that they will be available sometime in the second quarter of 2017.

So far, only the Nokia 6 phone has gone on sale in a few markets, including China. HMD Global has yet to offer a specific worldwide launch date for the Nokia 3, 5, and 6, saying only that they will be available sometime in the second quarter of 2017. All of these headsets are supposed to use stock versions of Android 7.0 Nougat, with regular monthly updates. The company’s Nokia Mobile Twitter page continues to stick with its “Q2 2017” launch dates for the Android phones when asked by fans. It is also not responding to any rumors about unannounced products like the dual rear-camera phone in the teaser video.
