Upgrade your network for less with 44% off the Netgear Nighthawk Wi-Fi 6 router

Amazon just dropped the Netgear Nighthawk Wi-Fi 6 Router to $44.99, down from its $79.99 retail price. That saves you $35, which is a 44% discount relative to the recommended retail price, and it looks like a strong time to grab it while this early fall Prime Day deal is live.

This is also the best price we’ve seen on it this year, coming in below the previous year-to-date low of $46.44. For anyone looking to upgrade an older router without spending a lot, that makes this deal stand out even more.

The Netgear Nighthawk R6700AX is an AX1800 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router built for small to medium homes, with coverage of up to about 1,500 sq. ft. It offers up to 1.8 Gbps total wireless speed and is aimed at homes with around 20 connected devices. Netgear also presents it as a 4-stream design, which is meant to improve capacity and efficiency compared to older Wi-Fi 5 routers.

For day-to-day use, it’s geared toward streaming, video calls, web browsing, and light-to-moderate gaming. App-based setup and management are included, so you can handle installation and basic network controls from your phone. Security and parental controls are also part of the package, though some protections are offered as trial-based add-ons.

At $44.99, this is a very affordable way to move to Wi-Fi 6 from a much older router, especially for a smaller home that doesn’t need high-end networking gear.
