Netflix keeps adding new TV shows and movies to its ever-growing library of Indian content. The streaming platform’s roster of upcoming Indian originals includes multiple new titles featuring prominent Bollywood actors like Madhuri Dixit, Tabu, Anushka Sharma, and many more.

From thrillers to romantic comedies, reality shows to lighthearted dramas, these upcoming Indian originals will soon release on Netflix. All of them are slated to hit the platform in 2022, but keep in mind that some may not be available globally. Here’s a list of all the exciting new Indian titles coming to Netflix, with a brief description of what they’re all about.

1. Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega (season 2)

Another returning Netflix original, Jamtara will jump back into the world of phishing. Bigger players enter Jamtara and politics tries to control phishing, but phishing ends up controlling politics. If you haven’t seen the first season of the show, now would be a good time to catch up. Season 2 of Jamtara releases on September 23, 2022.

2. Monica, O My Darling

A Netflix Indian original movie, Monica, O My Darling casts Raj Kumar Rao, Radhika Apte, and Huma Qureshi. The film’s trailer is quite vague on plot details, but we hear it has something to do with a perfect murder that leaves no traces. Rao appears to be a robotics specialist, while Qureshi seems to be a crime boss. Apte is seen speaking to Rao about a mysterious “backstory,” but it’s unclear what part she plays in the movie set to release this November.

3. Rana Naidu

When Bollywood stars are in trouble, who do they call? In this upcoming crime drama, Indian cinema superstars Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati are the go-to problem-solvers for the rich and famous. Follow the two as they come to the aid of Bollywood stars in this highly-anticipated upcoming Netflix Indian original.

4. Heeramandi

Not much is known about this upcoming Indian original on Netflix except that it’s the work of renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Netflix’s description of the show tells us that the series will focus on stories of love and betrayal in the lives of courtesans in pre-independence India.

5. Khufiya

Khufiya is a spy thriller directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and is based on the popular espionage novel Escape to Nowhere by Amar Bhushan. It will release exclusively on Netflix but there’s no set date out there just yet. The Indian original film stars Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ashish Vidyarthi in pivotal roles.

6. Chakda ‘Xpress

Starring Anushka Sharma, this upcoming Netflix Indian original film is inspired by the journey of Jhulan Goswami as she moves up the ladder despite the problems created by misogynistic politics to fulfill her dream of playing cricket for India.

7. The Archies

The Archies is an Indian take on the super famous comic book series of the same name. The film has been directed by Zoya Akhtar and will mark the debut of some Bollywood star kids including Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, and Suhana Khan.

8. Kathal

We’ve only seen a glimpse of Kathal, an upcoming Netflix movie with Sanya Malhotra in the lead. The streamer promises a story of crime, mystery, drama, suspense, and comedy centered around a politician’s missing prized jackfruit.

9. Plan A Plan B

You’ll see Ritesh Deshmukh and Tamannaah Bhatia in this upcoming Netflix Indian original. The story follows a matchmaker who believes marriage is for everyone except herself and a successful divorce lawyer with a secret. Will the two fall in love? Find out on September 30, 2022.
