Netflix is adding several new TV shows and movies to its ever-growing library of Indian content. The streaming platform’s roster of upcoming Indian originals includes multiple new titles featuring performances by prominent Bollywood actors such as Anil Kapoor, Pooja Bhatt, Bobby Deol, Bhumi Pednekar, Konkona Sen Sharma, and many more.
From thrillers to romantic comedies to lighthearted dramas, these upcoming Indian originals will release on Netflix in the coming months. All of them are slated to hit the platform in 2020. Here’s the full list of all the new Indian titles coming to Netflix with a brief description of what they’re all about.

1. A Suitable Boy
In a newly independent India, passionate literature student Lata defies tradition, and her meddling mother’s wish to choose her a husband. Torn between family duty and the excitement of romance, she embarks on a journey of love and heartache as three very different men try to win her heart. This Netflix Indian original TV series has been directed by Mira Nair and stars Ishaan Khatter, Tabu, Tanya Maniktala, Rasika Dugal, Ram Kapoor, Namit Das, as well as other prominent actors.
2. AK Vs AK
This Anil Kapoor starter Indian original Netflix movie also features Anurag Kashyap as a brash film director who kidnaps the daughter of a movie star (Kapoor). What follows is the film star’s desperate search for his daughter.
3. Bhaag Beanie Bhaag
This upcoming Netflix Indian original tells the story of a female stand-up comedian’s journey to carve out the life she wants for herself. The series features Swara Bhasker, Ravi Patel, Dolly Singh, Varun Thakur, Mona Ambegaonkar, and Girish Kulkarni. There’s no release date for the series yet but you can catch a glimpse of its first look in the image above.
4. Bombay Begums
This upcoming Netflix original Indian TV series is a contemporary drama featuring Pooja Bhatt, Amruta Subhash, Shahana Goswami, Plabita Borthakur, and Aadhya Anand. It tells the story of five women across generations wrestling with desire, ethics, personal crises, and vulnerabilities to own their ambition. As each woman strives to find her truth, they find in each other an unexpected understanding and bond.
5. Bombay Rose
Another Netflix original Indian movie, Bombay Rose is an animated romance hanging precariously between living on the streets and loving on the screen, Bollywood style. It is the first Indian animation film ever selected to open Venice Critics’ Week.
6. Class of ’83
Produced by Gauri Khan and directed by Atul Sabharwal, Class of ’83 is an upcoming Netflix original Indian movie starring Bobby Deol. The plot of the film revolves around a hero policeman shunted to a punishment posting as the Dean of the police academy. He decides to punish the corrupt bureaucracy and its criminal allies by training five lethal assassin police officers. All is well until his well-made plans backfire and threaten to burn his own house down. Class of ’83 releases on Netflix on August 21.
7. Dolly, Kitty, Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare
This upcoming Netflix movie is a drama about two cousins and their quest for freedom starring Konkona Sensharma and Bhumi Pednekar. It chronicles their quiet transgressions and their complicated love-hate relationship as they both enable each other to find liberation.
8. Ginny Weds Sunny
A tale of love, life, weddings, and music, Ginny Weds Sunny is an upcoming Indian original movie on Netflix starring Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey. Ginny, living with her matchmaker mom in Delhi, gets set up with Sunny, who has given up on the idea of love and just wants to get married and settle down. However, the match is not that simple, and a lot more comes to the fore than previously imagined.
9. Kaali Kuhi
Shivangi, a 10-year-old girl, must save her family’s village in Punjab from the restless ghosts of its horrific past. This Netflix original Indian movie will feature Shabana Azmi, Satyadeep Mishra, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Riva Arora.
Directed by Anurag Basu, Ludo is an upcoming Indian original comedy-drama starring Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, and Pankaj Tripathi. It follows the journey of four different people who meet at a crossroads in life.
11. Masaba Masaba
This upcoming Indian original documentary series on Netflix chronicles the life of famous Indian fashion designer Masaba Gupta. It follows her unique background, the diverse worlds she straddles across fashion and family, and her foray back into the dating world.
Mismatched is an upcoming romantic TV series on Netflix starring Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf. He’s searching for his happily ever after while she dreams of being a tech wizard. Over three months, this mismatched couple must build an app while navigating an oddball bunch of friends, nasty bullies, a snooty professor, and each other. The series is based on Sandhya Menon’s book When Dimple Met Rishi.
Starring Sanjay Dutt, Nargis Fakhri, and Rahul Dev – this Netflix Indian original movie tells the story of one man who rises above his personal tragedy and decides to transform the lives of few refugee camp kids through the game of cricket.
14. Tribhanga: Tedhi Medhi Crazy
Tribhanga is the name of an Odissi dance pose that is asymmetrical, yet mesmerizing and sensual, much like the lives of the three women characters of the film – Nayan, Anu, and Masha. The movie stars Kajol, Tanvi Azmi, and Mithila Palkar.
15. Serious Men
Troubled by his ‘under-privileged’ societal status, an ambitious man capitalizes on his son’s newfound fame as a boy-genius to improve his family’s fortunes. Little does he know that the secret he harbors will destroy the very thing he loves the most. This upcoming Netflix original movie features Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Aakshath Das, and Shweta Basu Prasad.
