The Moto X4 might be announced on September 2
We have heard quite a few rumors regarding the Moto X4 in the last couple of months and are waiting patiently for Lenovo to finally take the wraps off the device. It looks like we won’t have to wait much longer before that happens, as the handset just might launch on September 2.
Motorola Philippines will be hosting an event that day and, based on the promo image it posted on Facebook, the Moto X4 is expected to make an appearance. Although the image doesn’t specifically mention the handset, it does have the “hellomoto X” text at the bottom which leads us to believe that the X4 will be revealed. See for yourself below.
Of course, there’s a chance that Lenovo will actually announce the smartphone at IFA in Berlin before hand, so the event in the Philippines might just be to introduce the smartphone in the country. Remember that Lenovo has a press conference scheduled for August 31 at Europe’s largest tech show. Nothing has been confirmed at this point, so things can go either way.
Although the device hasn’t been announced yet, we already know quite a lot about it. An exclusive source told us that the Moto X4 will feature a 5.2-inch Full HD display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 630 chipset. In Europe, North America, and Latin America, the smartphone will sport 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, while in the Asia Pacific region, it will come with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
The handset is also said to be equipped with a dual-camera setup featuring a 12 MP main camera with dual autofocus, f/2.0 aperture, and 1.4µm pixel size, paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and 120° field of view. Other specs worth noting are a 16 MP selfie snapper, a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3,000 mAh battery, and an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water.
