Moto G9 Power hits India: Big battery, 64MP camera for under $200
- Motorola has launched the Moto G9 Power in India.
- The phone has a promotional price of Rs 11,999 (~$163).
Motorola has offered a steady stream of relatively capable smartphones at a decent price, with the Moto G9 Power being one of the most recent devices to fit the bill. Now, Moto is bringing the phone to the ultra-competitive Indian market.
The Moto G9 Power stands out by virtue of its 6,000mAh battery, putting it in the upper echelon of smartphones in general when it comes to endurance. The firm says it’ll last for up to 60 hours (2.5 days), while 20W wired charging is also on tap.
Another selling point is the phone’s 64MP main rear camera (f/1.8), capable of taking 16MP pixel-binned shots and night mode snaps. Motorola says it offers a triple rear camera, but the other two sensors are 2MP cameras for depth effects and macro shots respectively. Clearly another attempt by a smartphone brand to inflate the numbers.
Otherwise, the Moto G9 Power’s core specs show its budget focus, featuring a Snapdragon 662 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. You’re also getting a 6.78-inch HD+ LCD screen with a punch-hole cutout. The cutout plays host to a 16MP selfie snapper.
Other notable details include a mostly stock take on Android 10 (no Android 11 out of the box), an IP52 water-repellent design, and a rear fingerprint scanner.
The Moto G9 Power goes on sale exclusively via Flipkart from December 15. Expect to pay a promotional price of Rs 11,999 (~$163) for the device. Motorola says this promotional price will be available while stocks last or when the offer ends (although they haven’t actually revealed when it will end). In any event, you’ll be paying Rs 15,999 (~$217) if you miss out on the special discount.
