European Moto G (3rd generation) customers have been patiently waiting for their Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade since December, and this week it looks like the update is finally landing on the continent. Users in Europe have started noticing an OTA update notification since today.

Originally, Motorola began rolling out its Android 6.0 update to consumers in Canada and the United States late last year. This was followed up by a Marshmallow update that landed in India back in January.

Interestingly, the update is a slightly different version than the one that has hit Moto G (3rd gen) handsets so far. This version is named 24.41.33.en.EU, while the update that rolled out in North America and India carries the number 24.11.25.en.US. We don’t know exactly what the differences between the two are, but the newer number suggests at least a bug fix or two or possibly a few regional tweaks.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Moto G 2015 should begin spreading out over Europe during the next week or so, so keep an eye out for that OTA notification.
