Bring back the 90s with Moment's new fisheye lens

The 1990s introduced Beyoncé, Friends, and catchphrases like, “Let’s get jiggy with it.” It also introduced music videos using fisheye lenses, giving them an ultra-wide view with strong visual distortion. Hoping to re-capture the magic is Moment, which today announced its Fisheye 14mm lens.

The lens features a 170-degree field-of-view, wider than GoPro devices and smartphones with ultra wide-angle lenses. According to Moment, the new Fisheye lens uses 15% more of the image sensor than the company’s existing 15mm Superfish Lens. Because you mount the lens over your phone’s primary camera, your phone’s night mode should work great with the Fisheye lens.

To help with a fisheye lens’ often-polarizing image, the in-app distortion correction lets you correct the image’s bending. The feature is currently iOS-only in the Pro Camera app, though it’s coming to Android “in the next few weeks.” Finally, the lens features an f/1.7 aperture, weighs 73.1g, and works with the 62mm Lens Filter mount.

The Moment Fisheye 14mm lens is available for $119.99. For a limited time, you can pick up the lens for $89.99. The lens works with the Google Pixel 4, Apple iPhone 11, OnePlus 7 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S10, and more.
