When Google unveiled its Smart Display platform at the beginning of the year, LG showed off the ThinQ-branded WK9. After months of not hearing a word about the product, LG has finally released its Smart Display, giving us the device’s finalized name and pricing.

First, we have to talk about the ridiculous product name. When LG first showed off the Smart Display at CES, the device was called the WK9 ThinQ View. Now that it has been officially released, the South Korean company is calling it the LG WK9 XBOOM AI ThinQ Smart Display. What?

Anyway, let’s now discuss the LG Smart Display itself. Featuring an eight-inch display around front, the Wk9 XBOOM AI ThinQ runs the same interface powered by Android Things found on Lenovo’s and JBL’s Smart Displays. The device also includes a 5MP camera for Google Duo video calls and stereo 20W speakers tuned by Meridian Audio.

As you might have inferred by the Smart Display’s XBOOM name and the overall size of the device, LG is promoting the device as having “crystal clear audio” thanks to those large drivers. We will have to pit the XBOOM AI ThinQ against the JBL Link View to determine which Smart Display offers a better listening experience.

If you’re interested in buying the ThinQ XBOOM AI Smart Display, you can pick it up for $100 off of its retail price of $300 directly from LG. Just click on the button below to purchase the Smart Display for $200.
