Update, December 13: Lenovo officially launched Moto M in India. The device will be available in two versions. The base model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage will cost Rs. 15,999. If you want double the storage and 4GB of RAM, you will need to pay a little extra – Rs. 17,999. Both versions will be sold through Flipkart starting tomorrow night.

Original post, December 8: About a month ago, Lenovo took the wraps off its mid-range Moto M smartphone in China. We have already reported that the device will soon be coming to India and can now confirm that this will happen in just a matter of days.

Lenovo has sent out media invites for the Moto M launch event that will take place in Mumbai on December 13. Information regarding the price of the device is currently unknown, so we’ll just have to wait for a few more days to see how much the company will be asking for it.

The device features a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by the MediaTek Helio P15 processor along with 4 GB of RAM. There’s 32 GB of storage available, which can be expanded for an additional 128 GB (using the SIM 2 slot).

You’ll find a 16 MP camera at the back of the device with an f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and an LED flash. There’s obviously also a front-facing selfie camera on board, with an 8 MP sensor. The device has a great looking metal body which is resistant to water splashes and spills thanks to the double layer of hydrophobic coating. It houses a 3,050 mAh battery.
