Powerful “BoomSound” speakers have become a staple of HTC’s flagship One series and the company has just teased an even “bigger boom” for its upcoming HTC One M9 smartphone.

First, HTC Ireland released a short video clip, see below, which leaves no doubt that the message is linked to its March 1st event at MWC 2015, where the company is to announce its next flagship.

The second teaser, this time from HTC USA, again almost certainly confirms that HTC is planning another iteration of BoomSound for its M9.

The latest One M9 details suggest that HTC may be teaming up Dolby, rather than Beats, for speaker and audio hardware this time around, and there are rumors suggesting that the M9 may feature Dolby’s 5.1 surround sound technology. If the speaker technology is indeed different this generation, it will make for an interesting comparison between the M9 and previous One flagships. Either way, we will find out for sure during HTC’s announcement on March 1st.

Is improved speaker technology still on your wish list for the HTC One M9?
