HONOR Play

The HONOR Play is a truly impressive smartphone; a high-end phone made for gaming at a mid-range price. Not only does it have hardware that would normally be found in more expensive flagship phones, the HONOR Play also has some cool gaming-specific features.

However, most people don’t just use their smartphones alone. They also have other accessories and products that working alongside their handset. In this article, we take a look at five reasons to purchase the HONOR Play, along with some optional accessories that you can get to enhance the experience of using the phone.

Five reasons to buy the HONOR Play

1. High-end hardware

In case you are unfamiliar with the HONOR Play, it is the newest phone from HUAWEI’s HONOR brand and is targeting gamers in particular. Inside, it has some impressive hardware specs, including HUAWEI’s Kirin 970 chipset, which includes an NPU chip for AI and machine learning feature. It has 64GB of onboard storage, and the included microSD card slot allows you to add up to 256GB of additional storage. The phone can be bought with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. All of that means that you should be able to play any Android game on the HONOR Play very smoothly, from simple puzzle titles to ones with high-end graphics like PUBG Mobile, Asphalt 9 Legends and many more.

Finally, the HONOR Play comes with a big 3,750mAh battery that should last well over a day, even if you are playing high-end games. All of this makes the HONOR Play not just an impressive phone for games, but for any type of activity.

2. Huge display

The display on the HONOR Play is really, really big. It has a 6.3-inch 2,340 x 1,080 LCD screen, with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and an 83 percent screen-to-body ratio. That means the HONOR Play gives you lots of screen time for gaming, videos or any other kind of content you can show on a smartphone with a high resolution.

3. GPU Turbo and AI 4D Smart Shock for gaming

In addition, the HONOR Play has some great features made just for gamers. They include support for the new GPU Turbo technology, which should offer a better and smoother gaming experience, as the GPU inside the phone can be boosted up to 60 percent, resulting in higher frame rates. The HONOR Play also has what’s being called “AI 4D Smart Shock” which makes the phone vibrate in different ways to reflect what’s going on in the game itself. More and more games will support this feature in the future, including PUBG Mobile.

4. Dual cameras and a big selfie camera

The HONOR Play is no slouch in the camera department either. It includes a dual rear camera setup, with a 16MP f/2.2 primary sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 second sensor for capturing depth information. Since the phone has the Kirin 970 chipset, its cameras can also access the included NPU processor. This can be used for AI-based photo features, including real-time scene detection, so you don’t have to worry about going into the camera’s setting as much to take some great pictures.

While some flagship phones still include 8MP front-facing cameras, the HONOR Play has a 16MP camera in the front. This means you can take some great selfie pictures of yourself and your friends.

5. The price is low for all you get inside

If you look at the HONOR Play just from a hardware and gaming perspective, you will find features that are inside phones with similar specs that cost well over $500 or more. The HONOR Play has all those specs and features, but the price for the phone is so much lower than you would expect.
