TL;DR
  • The United Kingdom release date of the HONOR Magic 4 series is set for May 12, 2022.
  • Presumably, we’ll see the Magic 4 Pro, although we could also see the Magic 4 and Magic 4 Lite, too.
  • These will be the first HONOR flagship-level phones to hit the global stage since the company’s departure from HUAWEI in late 2020.

In 2021, HONOR launched the Magic 3 series. These were premium flagship phones with a Snapdragon 888, terrific cameras, large batteries, and all the trimmings. HONOR said they would launch globally, but that never happened.

We were worried the same fate might befall the HONOR Magic 4 series. However, it seems that won’t be the case, as an HONOR rep has officially announced a United Kingdom launch event for the series. That event will take place on May 12, 2022.

These will be the first global premium flagship phones from HONOR since the company separated from former parent company Huawei in late 2020. In a sense, the HONOR Magic 4 series now represents one of the best HUAWEI alternatives. It has a similar design language as HUAWEI and carries a lot of software DNA from EMUI.

The HONOR Magic 4 Pro, in particular, was our favorite smartphone from Mobile World Congress 2022. It crams in pretty much every spec one could want in an Android device. It also has a unique design that sets it apart from the pack.

We don’t know if the entire Magic 4 series will land in the UK. The Magic 4, Magic 4 Lite, and Magic 4 Ultimate exist, but we don’t know if HONOR plans to focus its efforts on just the Pro model for now. We also don’t know what the UK and/or European pricing will be — although you can plan on them being pretty pricey. Stay tuned.
