A handful of Google’s applications reside under the “Play” moniker. Play Store, Play Movies & TV, Play Music, Play Games, Play Books and Play Newsstand are all apps we’ve come to know and love over the years, but their app icons have never really been all that consistent with one another.

Thankfully that’s about to change. Google has just announced that it will soon be rolling out an update that will bring a more consistent look across the entire family of Play apps. As you can see in the image above, it’s clear that all of the apps come from the same family. They each sport the triangular Google Play shape, along with a small icon that lets you know which app is which.

The new icons will appear across devices and online in the coming weeks, so you might need to wait a little while longer for them to show up on your devices. What do you think? Are you a fan of the new app icons? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
