Picture this: you receive an invitation to a friend’s birthday party in an email, but you aren’t sure what you have going on that day. To find out, you’ll need to jump out of the Gmail app, open Google Calendar and check if you have time to make it. Then you’ll need to jump back into Gmail and respond with your answer. Up until now this process has been tedious, but that changes today. There’s a new update rolling out to Gmail for Android that brings an instant RSVP function to your emails with event invitations.

Now if you get a calendar invite, you’ll see a one-tap option to show your schedule for that day. Once you check it out, you can respond with a single click, and that’s it. You’ll no longer have to open up a separate app to see if you have time for an event. This feature works with both Google Calendar and Microsoft Exchange accounts.

That’s not all though, Gmail for Android is also getting rich text formatting. Now you’ll be able to add bold, italic, underlined, colored and highlighted text to the emails you send from your phone. For some reason this feature wasn’t available in Gmail for Android already, but we’re happy to hear Google has finally added it to the mobile app.

The update to version 6.0 is now available in the Google Play Store, so follow the link below to grab the update.
