After releasing a Wellness Edition of its Gen 6 smartwatch back in October, Fossil is continuing to focus on fitness with the announcement of a new Hybrid version of the Wellness Edition.

Today, Fossil has announced its Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness Edition watch. The watch is said to get up to two weeks of battery life. True to its hybrid name, it manages to accomplish this feat by using an E Ink display along with physical watch hands placed over the screen.

This edition of the watch comes with several fitness-focused features including:

  • Alexa
  • Sp02 blood oxygen measurements
  • V02 Max cardiorespiratory measurements
  • Automatic workout detection
  • Heart rate zone checks
  • Heart rate tracking

Additionally, Fossil’s new watch will have a number of smartwatch-like features. For example, it provides notifications for calls, texts, and apps. It also delivers real-time weather information and allows you to control music, alarms, and more.

In terms of variety, the Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness Edition comes with three different watch faces, including blue, black, and pink. You’ll be able to pair the watch faces with eight different silicon watch straps that will sell for $30.

It’s important to point out that the watch doesn’t run Wear OS, which means you can’t install apps on the watch. However, the watch can sync with iPhone and Android by using Fossil’s app.

The Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness Edition is expected to launch on the company’s website on January 5. When it launches, it will be available for $229.
