The Essential Phone is on its way (again). Andy Rubin’s company is now sending out emails to customers to state that the phone is ready and will ship within 7 days.
Folks can buy the handset outright for $699 from Essential.com (and through Best Buy and Amazon at a later date), or through finance company Affirm, with repayments coming in at $29.13 per month for 24 months. Device shipping is free and should take two-to-three days — once it officially begins shipping within the next week.
The Essential email says that those who’ve reserved the Essential 360 Camera will get a separate email regarding its availability when it’s ready to begin shipping, but right now we don’t know exactly when that will be.
It has been a bit of a rocky start for the Essential Phone, with the device missing release time frame originally proposed. Still, it hasn’t stopped the company receiving a reported $1.2 billion valuation.
We’ll have more for you on the Essential Phone in the coming weeks. For now, what do you think about Andy Rubin’s handset? Is it destined for success or failure? Let us know in the comments.
