TL;DR
  • Twitter owner Elon Musk published a poll asking people whether he should step down.
  • The final results show that 57.5% of polled users voted ‘yes.’

Twitter CEO Elon Musk posted a poll on the platform today, asking users whether he should step down as head of the company. Unfortunately for the Tesla CEO, it looks like the people think he should indeed go home.

The poll attracted 17.5 million votes by the time the results were called, with 57.5% voting in favor of Musk leaving and 42.5% voting “no.”

“I will abide by the results of this poll,” Musk added at the time the poll was posted. But will this actually happen? After all, the Twitter CEO most recently pledged in November that he wouldn’t ban a Twitter account that tracks his private jet. The account was then banned on December 14. So we’ll just have to wait and see.

This wasn’t the only significant Twitter news in recent days, as the company briefly suspended a host of accounts belonging to journalists after Musk accused them of doxing his location. The company also suspended links to and mentions of rival social media platforms before making a U-turn on these changes as well.
