Don't Starve: Pocket Edition tries to find safety in the Google Play Store
One of the oddest games in the growing survival genre has officially made it to Android. Developer Klei Entertainment has released Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition. The Android version of the popular PC survival game is priced at $4.99 and is now available from the Google Play Store after an extended beta period.
Here’s a quick description of Don’t Starve:
Play as Wilson, an intrepid Gentleman Scientist who has been trapped and transported to a mysterious wilderness world. Wilson must learn to exploit his environment and its inhabitants if he ever hopes to escape and find his way back home.
The object of Don’t Starve is, naturally, survival. Players must control Wilson as he crafts items and buildings so he can deal with all of the weird and strange creatures in this other world. There’s no guide book or instructions when you begin this game; you have to figure out how to survive all by yourself. The game itself also has a highly illustrative art style, with 2D characters inhabiting a 3D world.
Don’t Starve was originally released on the PC and has since been ported over to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Pocket Edition was first released for iOS over a year ago, so it’s nice that the game is finally in the Google Play Store. Will you be checking out Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition for Android?
