Fans of the PC based strategy games Rise of Nations and Rise of Legends have something to look forward to, Big Huge Games is working on a new game for Android, called DomiNations, that is due in 2015.

DomiNations will be a free to play mobile strategy game in which you build and take control of a civilization, amass a huge army and beat up your friends. This is your opportunity to play as any number of cultures from history, heading all the way back to a stone aged village and into the future with all those spaceships and hover boards that we’ve heard so much about, it will be 2015 after all.

The publisher behind the game, and essentially behind bringing the Big Huge Games team back together after a few years working for Zynga and the like, is Nexon M. Nexon is also responsible for Android titles like Legion of Heroes, Monster Squad and Bubble Ring Fling.

DomiNations Stone to Space

As far as the ‘create a civilization, build an army, attack your neighbor’ game genre goes, DomiNations appears to be one of the better looking attempts headed for Android gamers. The in-depth approach of including so many unique cultures as playable offerings should serve at least a bit of repeat gameplay value, as users can head back in multiple times to try out different cultures, to relive different aspects of Earth’s history, and perhaps rewrite it as their own.

The term free-to-play leads us to believe that DomiNations will offer in-app payments. This should be no surprise to anyone, as the majority of games in this genre operate in the same fashion. Besides, as much as we wish game makers were just in it to provideĀ us great entertainment, they are a business and have to keep the lights on somehow.

For more info, though not much, head on over to the DomiNations website and stay tuned. They say a 2015 launch, which could meanĀ just around the corner, or twelve months from now. Let’s hope for the former of the two.

What do you say, are you looking for a new civilization building strategy game to fill your time?
