- Discord is currently experiencing issues with session unavailability.
- The outage began around 10:25am Eastern this morning.
- Discord reports that it’s currently looking into the problem.
Update, September 15, 2026 (11:04 AM ET): Discord now shares: “A fix has been implemented and we are currently monitoring recovery of services.” If you’re still experiencing problems connecting, give it a few moments and try again.
Original article, September 15, 2026 (10:43 AM ET): More and more, when we’re looking for high-quality, community-backed content, whether we’re checking out a new emulation project, or learning how to spin up a local AI model, we turn to Discord. So many groups utilize the platform not just to chat with each other, but also to archive critical documentation and files. But if you’re trying to access any of that this morning, you may be running into trouble, as we learn of an active Discord outage.
One of our own just sounded the alarm after getting kicked off a server, and firing up Down Detector, we can see that whole lot of other Discord users are having trouble.
The official Discord status page confirms “session unavailability” as of 15 minutes ago, with the company noting that it’s currently investigating the issue.
For the moment, that’s all we know. There’s no clear remediation steps you can take on your end, so for the moment there’s not much to be done but wait for a status update. Maybe give IRC a chance?
We’ll update this post with any additional news we learn about the service disruption.
