Is Claude down for you? Anthropic shares what's going wrong

- Claude users report elevated error rates this morning.
- Anthropic confirms the outage, and has already started taking steps to mitigate the impact.
- Ongoing issues are affecting the login process, and Anthropic warns users not to sign out of their accounts until it’s resolved.
Is it the internet, or is it your device? We know; anytime we run into major trouble with a service, we’re always going to start diagnosing things in our head, trying to at least rule out the obvious possibilities. Right now, Clause users may be banging those heads against some nearby keyboards as they attempt to work out what’s going wrong with Claude, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork.
Over on its Claude status page, Anthropic confirms that it’s currently in recovery mode, after first identifying issues with elevated error rates across Claude services. The company was quick to take action, and while it’s mitigated some of the initial impact, other problems remain.
The big one right now appears to impact logging in to Claude — so much so that Anthropic warns that if you’re already signed in, the one thing you don’t want to do now is accidentally signing yourself out. The company’s rushing to sort that out, too, but right now it’s still a problem.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for further status updates from Anthropic, and let you know progress is going towards restoring full Claude access.
