TL;DR
  • Bill Gates has upgraded his personal phone from the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to another Samsung foldable.
  • The phone was gifted to him by Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-Yong when he visited South Korea.
  • Gates also revealed details of his laptop and desktop setup.

In a Reddit AMA last year, Bill Gates revealed that he was using the Galaxy Z Fold 3 as his daily driver. It was interesting how he chose a Samsung foldable phone instead of opting for Microsoft’s Surface Duo 2. Yesterday, Gates took to Reddit for another AMA round (Ask Me Anything) and revealed he’s upgraded from the Z Fold 3 to another foldable.

It’s no surprise that the Microsoft co-founder has himself a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 now. The device was gifted to him by none other than Samsung chairman Lee Jay-Yong in South Korea, Gates said in response to a Redditor’s question.

“Of course, I use Outlook and a lot of Microsoft software on it. The screen size means I don’t use a tablet, but just the phone and my portable PC – a Windows machine,” Gates explained in his answer.

The Redditor also asked Gates if he had any knowledge of Microsoft’s plans for the next Surface Duo, but unfortunately, Gates could not confirm if the company is ditching the dual display form factor for a foldable one, as rumors have stated. He went on to reveal he uses a Surface Studio as his desktop machine and that his office has a bunch of Surface Hub whiteboards scattered around.

What do you think of Bill Gates’ setup? A Galaxy Z Fold 4, a windows laptop, and a Surface Studio. Good enough, or not? Hit the comments section and tell us what you think.
