It's official: The ASUS Zenfone 9 is coming later this month
- ASUS has confirmed that the Zenfone 9 is launching on July 28.
- The teaser image points to a compact device once again.
The ASUS Zenfone 8 was one of 2021’s standout flagship phones due to its compact size, high-end silicon, and welcome extras. We already know what to expect from the Zenfone 9 thanks to a leaked video, but the company has now confirmed a launch date for the upcoming phone.
ASUS announced that the Zenfone 9 launch event will take place on July 28 at 9 AM ET (3 PM GMT+2). An accompanying teaser image seems to show the device from the front, while also touting its compact size. Check it out below.
ASUS didn’t dish out any other details, but we have a good idea of what to expect thanks to the aforementioned video posted last week. The clip confirms that the Zenfone 9 will pack a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, a 120Hz refresh rate, 4,300mAh battery, a 3.5mm port, and IP68 rating.
The Zenfone 9 is also set to land with a 50MP IMX766 main camera, complete with so-called gimbal stabilization. There’s no word on the second rear camera, but it stands to reason that it’s an ultrawide shooter.
Nevertheless, we’ll know more details such as pricing and availability on July 28. Here’s hoping that ASUS offers a wider release than the Zenfone 8.
