- ASUS announced the 2023 Zenbook 14X at CES.
- This year’s laptop upgrades the display and adds Intel’s 13th-gen processors.
- The Zenbook 14X comes with a ceramic finish for the first time.
Asus’s ultraportable, the Zenbook 14X OLED, has made an appearance at CES 2023. This year’s model appears to have gotten a bit of a refresh with a number of upgrades.
According to Engadget, Asus announced the 2023 Zenbook 14X OLED at CES 2023. Compared to last year’s model, the 2023 Zenbook 14X is slightly larger, offering a 14.5-inch OLED touchscreen. Additionally, the brand has made a few tweaks, boosting the refresh rate to 120Hz and expanding the display to a taller 16:10 aspect ratio.
The laptop also offers up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, has an optional NVIDIA RTX 3050 GPU, and supports Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
A few other improvements include a slightly larger 70W battery, a Full HD webcam (up from last year’s 720p resolution), Intel’s 13th-gen Core i9 processor, and dual mics with AI noise cancellation.
However, one of the biggest changes from last year is the Zenbook 14X 2023’s ceramic coating. Instead of going with the traditional aluminum finish, ASUS went with a ceramic coating created through a process called plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO). The ceramic coating is lightweight, harder than anodized aluminum, and more environmentally friendly than the traditional aluminum finish.
Unfortunately, the ceramic lid only comes in one color — Sandstone. However, if Sandstone isn’t quite your style, ASUS has made a cheaper model that does use aluminum and comes in Inkwell Gray.
As of this writing, ASUS has not given a price for the new Zenbook 14X OLED. But the computer does have a release window of Q2 2023.
